Indonesia Tropical Country (Rainy & Dry Season)

Climate is the average weather conditions for an annual basis which includes a relatively wide area. the climate in Indonesia is tropical climate, climate of a place known from the data on average annual weather such as humidity, temperature, wind and precipitation patterns for a minimum of 10-30 years.

Besides the weather (relationship of cloud and weather), another indication that can be used to determine the type of climate in the region is the natural vegetation or plants that dominate an area, for example tropical rain forest. Outline of the climate in one place can be formed because of the two things that affect, namely:

  1. Earth's rotation and revolution
  2. Differences in geographical latitude and differences in the physical environment.

Tropical Climate

Tropical can be defined as an area that lies between the lines isotherm in the northern hemisphere and the south, or areas that are at 23.5 ° north latitude and 23.5 ° latitude south. Basically regions including tropical climate can be divided into tropical dry covering the steppe (read: biome steppe), savanna dry (read: the characteristics of savanna, biome savannah), and desert (read: biome desert) and the humid tropics which include rainforest (read: the tropical rain forest biome, the uniqueness of the tropical rain forests), regions with a wet season and moist savanna.

Indonesia is included in the wet tropical climate or warm humid areas characterized by:

  1. The humidity is relatively high (generally above 90%)
  2. Rainfall is high
  3. The annual temperature above 18 ° C (and can reach 38 ° C in the dry season).
  4. The difference between seasons is not very visible, except for a period of little rain and more rain accompanied by strong winds

Indonesia has Wet Tropical Climate

Indonesia is also located at the equator has a tropical climate, specifically a tropical wet climate. It is also influenced by the shape of the state of Indonesia as archipelagic country. Most of the mainland in Indonesia is surrounded by seas and oceans. That is why Indonesia has a marine climate that are moist and bring a lot of rain.

There are several factors that influence the formation of tropical climate in Indonesia, including:

  1. On a global scale, the Indonesian archipelago is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean, is also directly adjacent to the continent of Asia and Australia.
  2. On a regional scale, the Indonesian archipelago consists of five major islands and thousands of small islands surrounded by seas and straits.
  3. On a local scale, towering mountains major may affect rainfall and temperatures as the climate itself can be affected by mountains. This is because the temperature on the mountain is lower than the temperature at the sea surface.
